So I haven’t posted in awhile because I’m lame, but this is important to me. (CAUTION: Not funny!)

Marietta Kenney is a licensed animal rescuer. She has devoted her time and soul to helping animals of all shapes and sizes. She has adopted out over 1000 animals in 5 years from potbelly pigs, rats, rabbits, bottled raised over 40 sheep, goats, and horses sent for slaughter.
She takes in dogs scheduled to be euthanized from shelters, sometimes hours from her home, socializes them and finds the perfect forever home.
Marietta takes on the animals even other rescues consider difficult. A three legged Rottie, a deaf Akita and older dogs are just an example of her ‘special attention’ pups.
Marietta runs her rescue by adoption fees and donations alone.
Her Story Continues
Marietta has a degeneration spine disease, Foraminal Stenosis. Since diagnosis her spine has shrunk 3 inches, and even with the surgical implanted rods and screws placed for stabilization she has developed herniated and slipped discs that pinch nerves in leave her in constant pain on the right side of her body, and still she continues to help those who can’t help themselves.
To quote her, “The animals are the reason why I get out of bed in the morning. Even if I’m in pain they always make me smile. No matter how bad one day can be these animals always have it worse and I am their help and the voice they don’t have”.
Needless to say, times have been tough and the vet bills are always high. Since her diagnosis it has been difficult for Marietta to do the fund raising she needs to continue with her selfless work.
Every donation, no matter how small, helps. You may donate via this page or if you prefer you can call the Clear Lakes Animal Wellness Center at 315-676-2860 and donate directly to Marietta Kenney’s account.
Thank you all for taking the time to read her story.
